Benefits Agency of the Department of Social Security (DSS). 

There are many different forms of benefits and pensions available to UK residents and they tend to alter on a regular basis. The usual special benefits available to visually impaired people these are DLA - Disability Living Allowance (if under 65) or AA - Attendance Allowance. Application forms are available from DSS Offices but are very difficult to complete so you are stronglyrecommended to contact your Local Voluntary Societyto help you complete them as your responses are critical for success. You may be entitled to other benefits which depend on your personal circumstances

Note that DLA and AA stop after 28 days while you are in hospital (in any 12 months)
