N.E. Region Visual Impairment & The Rothay Consultancy Tapes - Help and Information.

Local Voluntary Organisations in North East England

These organisations are the best gateway to all other services, information and support. You are advised to contact them for free help before or after registration.

They cover almost every area and you can contact which ever is most convenient. They provide valuable information, advice and help for all visually impaired people. They often provide regular meetings on topics of interest which give you a chance to discuss problems with others having the same impairment. Specialised groups exist for individual eye complaints. Training is provided eg in computers, Braille, Moon, etc and there are programmes of social activities with newsletters (in large print, tape or Braille) full of useful information.
